When women give birth in an equipped clinic with a qualified midwife, the risk of developing an injury like fistula drops to almost zero.
We train women from rural areas to serve their communities. Hamlin-trained midwives are now spread across more than 45 clinics in five regions of Ethiopia. In coming years, our goal is for Hamlin midwives to be active in 170 of the 3,600 government clinics through a combination of partnerships, mentoring, and training.
Hamlin midwives are leaders in maternal health. Read our Midwife’s Story to learn more!
